Operation Calypso – A Controlled Delivery Operation
Officers of DRI seized Cocaine, concealed in a steam iron that had arrived from Trinidad and Tobago. Thereafter, DRI officers intercepted a lady who had come to take the delivery of the said consignment. The lady revealed that the package was to be delivered to an African national in Navi Mumbai. A controlled delivery was undertaken and the
African national was intercepted after a brief chase. Further, investigation revealed that the mastermind was holidaying in Udaipur. Acting swiftly, officers of DRI raided the said hotel in Udaipur and arrested a woman. A total of four individuals, including the mastermind, were arrested in the operation.
State wise Ganja (Cannabis) Seizure made for FY 2020-21
DRI continued seizures of Ganja in FY 2020-21 also, which is in consonance with production and consumption of Ganja in India. In 2020-21, DRI seized around
