In the financial year 2020-21, DRI and Customs officers. Some smuggling syndicates employed of the interesting concealment very ingenious concealment methodsareshowninthebox methods to try and hoodwink below:
Ingenious concealment methods adopted by smugglers
Seizure of Pseudo ephedrine from Utensils
Officers of DRI intercepted a consign- ment bound for Australia, at Chennai Air Cargo. Detailed examination led to the recovery of 25 kg of Pseudoephedrine, a banned precursor which had been concealed inside coconut scrappers made of steel.
Seizure of Heroin concealed in Buttons
Officers of DRI intercepted a consignment, containing ladies gown upon its arrival in Mumbai. Detailed examination led to the recovery of 400 gm of Heroin ingeniously concealed inside the buttons sewn on the dress.
Seizure of Heroin concealed in Thermos Flask
Officers of DRI intercepted a consignment containing a Thermos Flask and recovered Heroin which had been ingeniously concealed between the two layers of the flask. The flask had to be carefully cut open to recover the contraband.
