The chart above shows a declining trend in heroin smuggling during FY 2023–24
and 2024–25. The higher number of seizures in FY 2022–23 was mainly due to
interceptions along maritime routes. In FY 2024–25, DRI has effected 16 seizures
of heroin, resulting in the recovery of 22.85 kg of heroin. Further, the land route
is the most commonly used mode for trafficking heroin, as shown in the chart
below.
