109 Smuggling in India Report 2024-25
Overview
In an increasingly interconnected global economy, customs authorities face com-
plex challenges, including smuggling, narcotics trafficking, commercial fraud,
and ecological crimes—often linked to money laundering. These threats to
national security and economic integrity demand strong international coopera-
tion.
Effective customs enforcement relies on the timely sharing of intelligence, collab-
oration with global bodies, and robust bilateral and multilateral agreements.
Capacity building and exchange of best practices further strengthen these efforts.
