Intelligence (DRI) and its entire fraternity on the occasion of its 68 Foundation

Day. The DRI has not only served as a bulwark against economic offences but has
also demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability in dealing with new and
evolving challenges to India's economic and security interests.

As we commemorate this significant milestone, the "Smuggling in India
Report 2024-25" provides a timely and insightful assessment of the threats posed
by smuggling and drug trafficking, and the wider implications for national security.
DRI's commendable focus and success in counter narcotics operations is the
outcome of its effective intelligence apparatus and remarkable operational
capabilities. It's meticulously coordinated operations, involving both national and
international agencies, have successfully disrupted transnational syndicates and
supply chains of criminals.

In today's interconnected world, marked by rapid technological
advancements and increasingly sophisticated threats, the DRI stands as a vital
pillar of our national security architecture. Its ability to consistently deliver crucial
intelligence and insights has earned the organisation global recognition and trust.
DRI's foresight in anticipating and countering emerging forms of illicit cross-border
flows of goods is particularly praiseworthy. I am confident that DRI will continue to
serve the nation with unwavering determination and expertise.

On this occasion, I commend the dedication of DRI Officers and wish them
continued success. I encourage them to continue their exemplary service and
further refine their skills to deal with the challenges of tomorrow. I am confident that
DRI will continue to set new benchmarks in safeguarding the economic security of
the nation.
