The Manual has been structured in such a way so as to cover the following broad topics –

(ii) Legal Provisions
(iii) Preparation for Search operations
(iv) Standard Operating Procedure to be followed in Searches & Seizure
(v) Post-search/Seizure formalities (vi) Capacity-building of CBIC
officers
One of the important aspects of the Manual is that it provides templates for the following important forms to be used during search operations, which would be of immense utility in establishing the sanctity of digital evidence at a later point of time –
(i) Digital Evidence Collection Form
(ii) Mobile Device Collection Form
(iii) Chain of Custody Form
(iv) Certificate of Evidence under section 65B of the Indian Evidence Act
