MESSAGE
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) is an apex intelligence and investigative agency working under the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. Further, commitment in honouring WTO's Trade Facilitation Agreement by member administrations has redrawn the contours of investigation to a focused approaches using risk management and non-intrusive inspection.
A record haul of Heroin of more than three thousand Kgs, a number of significant seizure of gold all over the country, including the sea coast and airports, investigation of cases relating to commercial frauds are some of the praiseworthy achievements of DRI. It shows the capacity and commitment of the organisation in unravelling a chain of events beginning from foreign destinations to our backyard. It is also a matter of pride to state that DRI has been successfully sharing inputs with other intelligence agencies and between foreign Customs Administrations. Officers posted in Customs Overseas Intelligence Network (COIN) have been important link between DRI and the overseas countries in providing credible/actionable inputs from overseas that has resulted in tangible results.
Since its inception in 1957 and even during the recent COVID-19 pandemic, DRI has been meticulous in not letting its guard down. It has discharged its responsibilities with commitment and professionalism, making significant contribution in safeguarding India's interests.
