New modalities of export frauds have also evolved. Ingenious ways are being used to subvert the system and defraud government exchequer. DRI has been at the
forefront in unearthing various modus operandi and in exposing unscrupulous elements indulging in export frauds.
Nature of Export Frauds and Major Cases
In 2020-21, DRI booked 126 cases involving export frauds. The percentage composition of spectrum of frauds is shown below:
