MESSAGE
On behalf of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), I send you warm wishes and a hearty congratulations on the celebration of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence’s (DRI) 64th Foundation Day and on the publishing of your annual Smuggling in India Report 2020-21.
CBP enjoys a strong collaboration with the DRI and values your partnership in protecting our countries, economies, and citizens from threats including smuggling, illicit transshipping, narcotics and related pre-cursor chemicals, misclassification of goods, and trade-based money laundering. This past year, we have reinforced our relationship and strengthened cooperation in customs matters.
CBP looks forward to a sustained relationship with the DRI, as the key nodal agency within Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), on investigations and intelligence to further advance our collaboration on key matters of mutual interest, including customs law enforcement and information sharing. In addition, we anticipate continued coordination within the World Customs Organization on issues to improve our customs administrations as well as strengthen enforcement.
We hope to continue our cooperation in the coming years and wish you and all members of the DRI a celebratory occasion on December 4, 2021.
