Given how much the world has changed as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic it is all the more important to understand how these changes in society have impacted illicit trade and smuggling trends. As a result, this report provides timely insights into how smuggling trends have changed in the past year which will enable the CBIC as well as other WCO Members to respond to these changes in the most effective manner.
I once again thank the CBIC for their valued cooperation with the WCO and the international Customs community. I would also like to congratulate the CBIC as well as their DRI for the work that has been carried out by the organization in recent years. I wish the DRI continued success in carrying out its highly important enforcement work in making sure that India remains safe and secure going into the future.
