MESSAGE
I am happy to learn that the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) is celebrating its 64th Foundation Day on 4th December, 2021 and also bringing out its annual report ‘Smuggling in India Report, 2020-21’ on this occasion.
In its long journey, DRI has earned a distinct reputation in protecting the country’s economic frontiers. The DRI plays an important and significant role in creating a safe and secure economic environment which is the cornerstone of India’s march towards Atmanirbharta. DRI has been continuously working to secure India’s national and economic security by preventing the smuggling of contraband articles such as gold, narcotics, fake Indian currency notes and endangered flora and fauna. I am confident that DRI will continue to defeat the nefarious designs of the fraudsters, smugglers and traffickers who pose a grave threat to national security and economic stability.
I extend my warm greetings and felicitations to all officers and staff of DRI on the occasion of the 64th Foundation Day and wish them all success in their future endeavours.
