An interesting case is that of 27th July, 2019 wherein officers of DRI intercepted a person,
allegedly smuggling exotic animals. 20 Siamese Crocodiles and one Albino Monkey were rescued from his possession. He was apparently carrying them on a private bus from Bengaluru to Mumbai. These animals are not native to India and were illegally imported from Bangkok through Chennai Airport in personal baggage.
